Latest on Once
In 2006, the world was introduced to Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova by way of a delightful little film called 'Once.' In the film, the two musicians fell in love. In real life, the two musicians also fell in love, but -- like their onscreen characters...
The last time you heard the names Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová was probably in 2008, when they charmed your pants off in 'Once' and won an Oscar for Best Original Song. Since then, the on-screen duo have continued their off-screen...
When this year's Oscar nominations were announced last month, all of the expected contenders and hit films were represented, with 'The King's Speech,' 'Black Swan,' 'The Social Network,' 'True Grit,' 'Toy Story 3' and 'Inception' each earning Best Picture...
If you caught John Carney's indie romance 'Once' and thought it would make a great Broadway production, you aren't alone. Producers John N. Hart Jr., Jeff Sine and Fred Zollo snagged the live theater rights to the film back in 2008 with plans to have it...
Some 300 movies came out in 2007, and we managed to see almost every one that mattered (sorry, 'Who's Your Caddy?'). Hollywood had a good year, despite all those three-quel let-downs. We battled like Spartans (but with fewer casualties) to hammer out this...

This movie was beautiful! It will speak to you if you've ever take the path MORE traveled rather than the one less traveled. Or I guess if you've ever put your heart 2nd.
If nothing else this film holds merit fot the unbelievable soundtrack. I know I will not watch it again but thie music will stay with me forever. Well done!!!!!!
I loved the movie and, LOVED the music. Can't get it out of my mind... I'm glad to say.
And no, I don't mean the film, I mean the number of times anyone should view the film. Once is once too many for Once. Although I can see what other people liked about it, I cannot ignore the fact tha... t the dialogue was scarce and uninformative, the plot was not advanced and at times, buried, there was no lighting, and the 88-minute film seemed like it was 3 hours long. Further than that, the fledgling plot would not have been enough to carrry the film anyway. If this film speaks to some avant-garde style of filmmaking that will soon be used in all movies, I shall be quite happy with my collection of DVDs and without ever setting foot in a theatre again.
