As the Oscar race shapes up, several top stars and filmmakers may find their biggest competition for a nomination is ... themselves. At least 10 of this year's biggest overachievers have a chance of being nominated for not just one but two movies. Or...
The awards buzz keeps rolling for 'The Artist,' which received five Spirit nominations on Tuesday, as did the lesser-known indie 'Take Shelter,' starring Michael Shannon as a father with apocalyptic visions. Shannon was nominated for Best Male Lead, along...
Our current Jessica Chastain era snuck up on me. Chastain's meteoric rise happened so fast that I just kind of went along with it. In other words: I was ill prepared for Chastain's dominance over the last few months. Who is this person and how did she...

Contrary to the raves of critics, this is not a very good movie. The movie lurches along at a snail\'s pace. There is simply nothing engaging about the plot. By a third of the way through the movie I ... lost interest in why the lead character is even building a shelter at all. The director makes excessive use of lengthy images of the sky, sometimes cloudy, sometimes filled with birds. The ending, an unmerciful two hours from the start is no shocker but rather only one two endings the plot allows.
