Plot Summary
When George Lutz (Ryan Reynolds) and his wife, Kathy (Melissa George), find a beautiful new house in the small town of Amityville, N.Y., they think the place is too good to be true. After they move in with their kids, they find out the cheap price tag is thanks to the house's sordid history: The former tenant murdered his family after supposedly being possessed by the devil. Believing the home is haunted, the couple find a priest (Philip Baker Hall) to help them rid the place of evil spirits.

In this Amityville, the performances are bad, the special effects ho-hum, and it's not even particularly scary. show more

This movie sucks from the "word" GO. Another BAD remake on the 70's. This movie is so off what the book, and the real story dipicts. The movie is scary, no doubt. Let's start with the house-looks like a mansion compared to the "REAL" house! I have been to the real house and it is much smaller than that, come on! The only positive I can say about the movie is they had the period-70's. I can pick apart this movie limb from limb, I would like to see a movie remade like the book! The 1979 movie was close...not there! six people were killed there! Amityville 2 was a joke, there is another story. Just my two cents-Rick O'suna call me!
