Superbly crafted film, with an extraordinarily effective musical score to accent emotion, flawed by an improbable and politically contrived (biased)... plot. If only Polanski had put such effort into a believable film! Russia kills its citizens who are verbally critical of the Russian government, as Putin has done, but the USA makes heroes out of such people (even when they are involved in terrorists attacks against the USA, like past members of the Weathermen terrorist). The plot of this movies is ridiculous, otherwise it would have been a5 star movie. Leftists will believe the movie's plot though. Polanski's anti-American feelings (stemming from his sexual abuse of a child and conviction in the USA) is evident in the plot of this film. Full Review

Pretty good acting. Lame story line. Bush, Blair, Haliburton, and the CIA all torturing terrorists. Really? Is that the best you've got? I hate... s with a politcal slant. Hey, Roman! It's the Obama administration that's trying to get you extradited, not Bush. Full Review

Big applause for Roman Polanski for this great work, " The Ghost Writer" is a mystery, a thriller, a tribute to the masters who inspired the genre and might even surpass all those sources of inspiration. The film mixes politics with an old fashion thrills and makes us wonder why Hollywood hasn't made movies like this more often. It's early in the year, ******** going to be hard to find anything that can even come close to this movie, a film that is as perfect as anything any director has ever put together, Hitchcock included. Interesting movie. Polanski clearly tried for a Hitchcock-type suspense theme here, and nearly pulled it off. Very moodly and atmospheric. Not up to... his best (I could watch Chinatown every week), but not a bad way to spend a couple of hours. Full Review

I rather enjoyed the mystery and suspense as an evening out. Like the TV s' Mission Impossible, I had to follow closley. Going to the movies is... tainment and when "ghost" finally took out the guests' "auto to use" it turned out to be a brand new BMW suv. Boy, I was sitting there wishing I was the one driving that baby! ...and he left it on a ferry boat!! Therefore, he got hit for it! Ha! Full Review
