    Mick LaSalle San Francisco Chronicle

Connects on a gut level in two ways, political and existential. show more

It's a shame the aliens are so preachy, because this remake of the 1956 and 1978 versions of Invasion of the Body Snatchers features a top-notch cast in Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig and moments of unnerving terror. show more

Except for one terrifically adroit sequence in a subway, there is nothing understated about The Invasion. With all the shoot-outs, the screaming, the chases, collisions and fireballs, there isn't much time for storytelling. show more

    Steven Rea Philadelphia Inquirer

Mostly about delivering thrills, and chills, and this it does with moderate success and a bunch of fast, no-nonsense edits. show more

Jack Mathews New York Daily News

Obliterating the original structure and intent of "Body Snatchers" is cinema-lit blasphemy. show more

    Kirk Honeycutt The Hollywood Reporter

An involving sci-fi action-thriller, probably longer on chase sequences than the original director wanted and shorter on the "ick" factor than the studio wanted. show more

There's no question The Invasion works in a mechanical, by-the-numbers manner. But it's what the movie leaves you with -- absolutely nothing -- that is the scariest thing about it. show more

Here is a great story born to be creepy, and the movie churns through it like a road company production. If the first three movies served as parables for their times, this one keeps shooting off parable rockets that fizzle out. show more

Enough with the snatching, already. show more

    Maitland McDonagh TV Guide

There's little room for ideas when there are flaming cars to be crashed, and overall the film is an infelicitous hodgepodge that lifts as liberally from "The Quatermass Experiment" (1956) and "28 Weeks Later" (2007) as "Body Snatchers" while leaving all the best bits behind -- even the iconic pods are gone. show more

Not very good....ranks up there with Battlefield Earth...both movies had potential as a concept but failed to deliver.

This was sooooo cheezy. . I don't understand; their zombies half the time, but then they are full-out chasing after Kidman in the next scene. Everything was rushed so it didn't make that much sense, and they had characters explain things rather than showing you. Really bad. If you are like me--you take the critics reviews first but still like to see how user's liked it-- DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY on this silly movie.

man, i was expecting the worst- from the reviews, from the entirely empty theater... pretty interesting, great car crashes.i spotted a bit of her aussie accent. and in one scene, the hematologist (i presume) drew off some of his own blood, usu. if you stick yourself with a vacutainer, with a torniquet, and pull it out, you keep bleeding. pretty quick reference to some not surviving the transformation, not followed up.why were the infected wearing black? pretty quick and simple ending though. i prefer happy endings. life is depressing enough as it is, but an ambiguous ending might've been more interesting.

I thought the movie was entertaining and worth watching. I disagree with all the critical reviews on this movie, but I guess it's all personal opinion. However, if you aren't very critical and are just looking to watch a good exciting movie and be entertained, I reccommend it. Of all the movies good and bad, that I've seen, this is really one that I feel, does not deserve to get bashed.
