The video was historical as well as very moving. The Band was integral to so many wonderful songs that most people don't even know about. The Last Waltz celebrates the amazing talent of \"the band\" behind the movement. Warts and all, they were part of the American music story.

Washington Post
Is "The Last Waltz" the greatest rock movie of all time? It makes its case persuasively in a restoration overseen by director Martin Scorsese and producer Robbie Robertson that's been released to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the concert it made famous. Full Review

The New York Times

Philadelphia Inquirer

Dave Kehr
Chicago Reader
Despite Scorsese's efforts, there just isn't much to look at, and the film plays less like a movie than an illustrated record album. Full Review
David Sterritt
Christian Science Monitor
It's never been topped. Full Review
