I FORGOT TO ADD MY 5 STARS!!!

I wanted to add to what Janiekid said. I saw it at a film festival then rented the movie so that my whole family could see it. I liked the message of the film but more than that it was just plain good... entertainment-- good characters, acting, and story line. I especially liked the Indian theme (and I understand that this was Floyd Westerman's last movie -- what a shame to lose him). This is one of those sleeper movies that you would not necessarily know aboout since there isn't a big studio behind it pushing with lots of marketing money but I'd take it ahead of most of the studio pap that gets shown today. I liked it, my wife liked it, my kids liked it and my 80 year old parents liked it. Not an easy accomplishment for a film let alone a low budget movie. Full Review

Anyway, I wanted to comment about this movie that I had seen a few days ago called "The Legend of Tillamook's Gold." It's about this young girl, Julie, who moves with her family from California to the... Oregon coast after her father loses his job. While her family is dealing with their financial troubles, Julie, feeling forgotten and ignored, goes around to explore the town of Tillamook only to have a very mystical encounter with an Elk. The elk’s hooves uncover an old Spanish gold coin in the sand which draws Julie to the legend of Tillamook's Gold. She uncovers this amazing legend and finds that she is destined to be the person to bring it all to light.I obviously don't want to give too much away, but I had to write about this movie because it is the perfect family movie. It has adventure, humor, beautiful landscapes, real family issues and real family fun. It is very well made, despite the fact that it is obviously a low budget movie. There is so much heart put into this movie that it just pours out! It was so nice to see a movie where profanity or vulgarity didn't enter into the dialog or premise at all! The issues were dealt with in a realistic and honest way - the way I would deal with my families issues, and I think how most families would deal with theirs. Kind of refreshing. Here is the link to it's website: www.legendoftillamooksgold.comAnd if it matters to anyone, the movie has won many awards, been shown at many festivals, and is Kids First! Endorsed and Dove Foundation Certified, so you can rest assured you are watching something really family friendly.I would say that the age range probably is 7 and up. My niece, who is 7, LOVED it and her older sister who is 10 enjoyed it as well. It was really cool to see these girls with two different personalities, love it for different reasons but love it just the same! Totally bonding and they didn't know it! My sister and I thought "Aha! We got 'em!" Very cool... Full Review
