  • Maybe money never sleeps, but this missed opportunity of a movie will have audiences dozing. show more

  • Mr. Douglas's performance in the sequel measures up to Gekko's rep, but the rest of the movie is pumped up to the bursting point with gasbag caricatures, overblown sermons and a semicoherent swirl of events surrounding the economy's recent meltdown. show more

  • The film whipsaws between hyperbolic character study and preachy account of the recent financial meltdown. The two story lines are not well-integrated. show more

It does not even compare to the first one.

A very nice second part to the first classic tale. A bit heartless, although not surprising. It's balanced out with Shia's performance. He has a decent part and pulls it off nicely here unlike his other roles ("crapformers"). This is an entertaining story set in a great backdrop of the financial collapse with characters you can care about.

Shia needs to stop acting, he plays the same guy ever time.
