Start working on your ugly cry face because it is coming out for "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere. There's been all this talk about who Negan killed, but Greg Nicotero himself just said that's not even the worst thing to happen in the episode. Because we know that's coming, they're going to hit us again with something less expected. Sadists!

Nicotero was just on AMC's "Geeking Out," talking about the premiere, which he directed. "You're gonna be mad. It was the hardest episode I've ever directed." He said the challenge was that everyone who watched the Season 6 finale knows that something is going to happen in the first episode of Season 7. We know Negan's kill is going to be revealed. However, he warned, "There's so much more that happens in that episode that is more heartbreaking than that moment, that by the time the episode's over it's almost too much. It's that intense."

Nicotero said the whole season is "intense" and it's the first time we've seen Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) scared, stripped off all of his power in front of everyone. "And knowing where we're going from there, it just keeps getting worse. It goes lower and lower and lower and lower. So, it's pretty intense, man. I never expected as a director to be that emotional affected by dragging my actors to their deepest, darkest places. It was rough."

Well, damn. Tom Payne (Jesus) recently teased that the start of Season 7 is "very tough and pretty graphic and horrible" and the first episode is "very brutal and a huge downer." It's gonna suck!

So prepared to feel like crap the night of Sunday, October 23, then slowwwwly feel better over time.
