There's no business like show business.

The harsh realities of how hard it is to make it in Hollywood are on display in the new trailer for the musical film "La La Land." While it's strange to think of stars Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling as anything but wildly successful, they play aspiring actress Mia and struggling jazz musician Sebastian, respectively. The duo meet and fall in love -- all while pursuing their artistic dreams.

It doesn't look like an easy ride for the characters, even though the film is filled with song and dance. Mia and Sebastian both deal with serious setbacks in the trailer, but it's not all bad. They also have a truly movie-worthy romance bound to inspire swoons.

The trailer puts Stone and Gosling's chemistry in the spotlight once again. It looks like the pair will be just as irresistible together as they were in their two previous films together, "Crazy, Stupid, Love" and "Gangster Squad."
"La La Land" hits theaters on Dec. 9.
