If you thought past "Sherlock" villains were bad, brace yourself for an even more awful one to pop up in Season 4, Episode 2.

PBS released a new video Tuesday in which cast member Martin Freeman (Dr. John Watson), writer and executive producer Steven Moffat, and producer Sue Vertue open up about Culverton Smith, the new villain played by Toby Jones. They don't beat around the bush: They refer to him as him "absolutely harrowing" and "the worst person in London," among other intriguing descriptors. Freeman even compares him to previous twisted baddie Moriarty (Andrew Scott) and rates Smith as more "horrible," believe it or not.

Apparently, Jones pulled off his villainous performance in an interesting way. According to Vertue, he stayed in character between takes -- a method that was "unnerving," she says in the video. Whatever works, though, right?

Listen to Freeman, Moffat, and Vertue's takes on the new "Sherlock" villain below.

"Sherlock" Season 4, Episode 2 airs on Jan. 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on PBS.
