"The Walking Dead" Season 8 will soon start filming, and cast members like Chandler Riggs (Carl Grimes) are just getting their scripts for the first episode. The Season 8 premiere is also the 100th episode of the series, so it's meant to be extra special.

Without spoiling anything, Riggs teased some "good" stuff ahead:

He also shared something a bit surprising -- that the time between the finale airing and getting the premiere script for the new season is his favorite time of year. In that brief span of not quite a month, he and the fans are on the same (blank) page:

Yeah, he doesn't have to lie or be evasive to avoid spoilers, he can just guess like the rest of us. But that time is over for this year.

Andrew Lincoln has already hyped the 100th episode, expecting it to be one of the greatest ever, picking up directly from the Season 7 finale's declaration of All Out War. Katelyn Nacon -- who plays Carl's zombie apocalypse girlfriend, Enid -- just got bumped up to series regular, which probably means good things for her relationship with Carl. This tweet from TWD executive producer Gale Anne Hurd may be a hint on that:

It may also mean good things for Enid's continued relationship with adopted mom Maggie (Lauren Cohan), also making her the most likely future babysitter for both Baby Gleggie and Baby Judith, wherever Judith happens to be.

"The Walking Dead" usually films from early May to late November/early December, with the first big trailer coming out in July at Comic-Con. The new season will start airing on AMC in October. We'll stay tuned for more teases as the months go by.
