Every fan of "Game of Thrones" can hum the iconic title music, and that's all due to composer Ramin Djawadi.

HBO released another behind-the-scenes featurette in its "Inside the Thrones" series, and this one focuses on Djawadi's award-nominated work. There's no new footage from Season 7, alas, but it's interesting to listen to the composer explain the process of making the music that powers the show, including the expressive themes that accompany major characters.

Djawadi notes that he introduced character themes slowly, since there are so many characters and it might've been confusing. For instance, Theon didn't get a theme until Season 2, though he's been part of the series since the pilot.

The composer also discusses the instruments he uses, including a didgeridoo for the wildlings. And he spends quite a bit of time explaining "Light of the Seven," the haunting piece he wrote for the beginning of the Season 6 finale, leading up to Cersei's trial.

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 premieres July 16 on HBO.
