"Once Upon a Time" is going for a glass slipper redux in Season 7. Jessy Schram already played Cinderella on the ABC series, but while at Disney's D23 Expo, the "Once" showrunners revealed that new series regular Dania Ramirez will be playing a new version of Cinderella.

That's a surprise.

It's not a surprise to learn that Ramirez's character will be the wife of adult Henry (Andrew J. West) and mother to young Lucy (Alison Fernandez). That was expected when her casting was announced. However, there goes the theory that Henry is married to Moana. (But Lucy can still be young Moana, and that was probably the better theory anyway.)

Not for the first time, Oncers were left confused:

Sorry, girl, better hand over the dress and slippers!

It kinda sorta fits, though. As executive producer Edward Kitsis pointed out to Entertainment Weekly:

"If we remember, Henry's grandfather is Prince Charming [Josh Dallas], so we have the grandson of Prince Charming with a new Cinderella."

Interesting. Kitsis and fellow EP Adam Horowitz also revealed that actor Jared Gilmore will return as young Henry in the Season 7 premiere, so we can see why he left home. Kitsis added that Henry is the author of the first book, but he wants to go where the happy endings aren't written. While there, Kitsis added, we'll see more versions of various characters:

"There's a Disney animated version of some movies and then there are live action version, and then there are some fairy tales that are told [in] some countries and a different version in some others."

And that's how we'll get a different Cinderella, when "Once" already has one. Never a dull moment with this show, that's for sure. Here are more updates from the Season 7 panel. (We were all correct about the premiere title, "Hyperion Heights," being a location.)

"Once Upon a Time" Season 7 premieres Fridays this fall on ABC.
