Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan are heading to ABC's "American Idol" reboot as judges.

The two singers were rumored to be in the mix over the summer, but now it's official that they'll join Katy Perry on the judges panel. Country singer Bryan tweeted out the confirmation about ABC's announcement.

"I'm excited at the chance to help some deserving artists reach their dreams," said Bryan. "To be in a position in my career to help facilitate this along with the other judges is just a complete honor. It's gonna be a blast!"

Richie said, "I am very excited to be joining Katy, Luke and Ryan on 'American Idol.' As a singer, songwriter and producer, I feel I can bring a great deal of experience to the table. It's going to be so much fun!"

The trio, with returning host Ryan Seacrest, will appear together for the first time on "Good Morning America" on Oct. 4.

Auditions began in August, for a March premiere (ABC will use the Oscars to promote it heavily). The show is rumored to air on Sundays and Mondays.
