As "Game of Thrones" fans prepare to say goodbye to the hit HBO fantasy series, its cast is finding it difficult to let go, too. (Well, some more than others, anyway.) And that was especially true after the emotional table read of the final batch of episodes, according to one of the show's stars.

Sophie Turner, who's played Sansa Stark on the Emmy-winning drama since the beginning, spilled the beans about the ensemble coming together to read through the season eight scripts, revealing in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that the event was an emotional rollercoaster. Rather than read one episode at a time, Turner said, the cast decided to plow through all six episodes of the final season in one long, marathon session.

"We closed the blinds and shut ourselves off from the rest of the world and had six hours in this room just reading it through and crying and laughing," the actress told EW.

The verdict?

" ... [A]t the end of it, we were all on our feet, applauding and crying," Turner said. "We had everyone there, everyone who's had any part in this. It was amazing."

It certainly sounds like an amazing experience, though the actress admitted that putting themselves through the emotional wringer so early before production even starts has its pitfalls.

"We had our emotional bit and then we thought, 'Well now we've got eight months. We've still got a while to get through!'"

At least that gives viewers plenty of time to prepare themselves for end. And stock up on tissues.

"Game of Thrones" season eight is expected to debut sometime in 2019.
