When Moviefone talked to "The Hitman's Bodyguard" stars Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, and Salma Hayek about a potential sequel, they all said it would have to follow Sonia Kincaid, wife of Sam Jackson's hitman, Darius Kincaid.

And now The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that a sequel to "The Hitman's Bodyguard" is being promoted at Cannes in posters alongside other movies marked "coming soon." The sequel is reportedly called "The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard." In the original film, Reynolds plays Michael Bryce, the bodyguard of Jackson's hitman. Would Reynolds return as bodyguard in the sequel, protecting Hayek this time?

The Cannes catalog describes the film as "The Good. The Bad. And the Batshit cray." Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson are thought to be returning, THR reported, but the casting wasn't confirmed. Patrick Hughes was also believed to be returning as director, with Tom O'Connor working on the script. No word at all about Salma Hayek, for some reason, even though she was the one pushing hardest for a sequel following Sonia.

Here's what the stars told Moviefone when asked about a potential sequel:

Ryan Reynolds: "I want to see a movie between Darius Kincaid and Salma Hayek's character Sonia. That's all I want to see. That's the only sequel that should be made from this film."

Samuel L. Jackson: "Kincaid Family Vacation?"

Reynolds: "Yes. Kincaid Family Vacation. Spread the word."

Salma Hayek: "I want to because I didn't get enough of Sonia. I am in love with this character. I want to be in her skin again. I felt so free! It was so liberating."

Watch their interviews from last August:"The Hitman's Bodyguard" made $176.5 million worldwide off a reported $30 million budget. The domestic/international breakdown was close, but the foreign money gave it an edge. So it's not really a shock to hear that a sequel is in the works -- especially with Salma Hayek so eager to bring Sonia back.

But let's stay tuned for more details beyond what was seen on a Cannes posters next to "The Expendables 4," "Rambo V," and "Mechanic 3."
