I Am Grootpool?
Before the final numbers came in, "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn crossed the Marvel aisle to congratulate Fox's team for their success. As usual, he dragged Groot into the story. At least this time he didn't wring our tear-ducts, he just painted Groot red for a cool Deadpool version:
Enormous congrats to @VancityReynolds, @DavidMLeitch, @RhettReese, @missmorenab & company on Deadpool 2 opening to what looks like over $130 million this weekend. Keep the fun stuff coming! pic.twitter.com/gRk3MGFmkA

Very nice. "Deadpool 2" is likely to do even better this coming Memorial Day weekend.
Ryan Reynolds has been BUSY for what seems like several years promoting this movie, and he thanked everyone for giving maximum effort to make the sequel a hit:
Yes, even Ron Weasley and Seabiscuit got thanked, along with "radioactive spiders," "Jacques Strap," "Poppy Cock," "Seymore Butts," and "adult diapers" -- but "not Ryan."
Meanwhile, Groot is still kicking butt with the rest of the "Avengers: Infinity War" team, passing "Jurassic World" at the all-time box office to take the No. 4 spot.
Somehow, the "Guardians" will be coming back for a third movie, coming out after "Avengers 4." James Gunn will be back to write and direct, and he teased that "it will help to set up the next 10, 20 years of Marvel movies."
