"Grey's Anatomy" has explored some pretty dark and twisty territory throughout its first 14 seasons, but its upcoming 15th outing is reportedly set to focus on lighter -- and possibly sexier -- fare .

According to TVLine, "Grey's" showrunner Krista Vernoff has declared that the show's 15th season shall henceforth be known as The Season of Love. Vernoff has yet to offer any specifics on that statement, but if we had to wager a guess, we'd say that that means that Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) will finally have some luck in the romance department. (Or at the very least, get lucky.)

As loyal "Grey's" viewers will remember, Mer was suddenly widowed when Derek (Patrick Dempsey) was killed off in season 11. She had a brief fling with Riggs (Martin Henderson) in season 13, but hasn't had a steady significant other since.

Vernoff had already instated a bit of a lighter tone during season 14 of the long-running medical drama, capped off by the finale, which featured Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Alex's (Justin Chambers) long-awaited wedding, as well as the return of Teddy (Kim Raver, who will rejoin the regular cast), who's pregnant with what fans assume is Owen's (Kevin McKidd) baby. Obviously, those plot lines open up a lot of storytelling possibilities, and we're eager to see what else Vernoff and co. have up their sleeves for the docs at Grey Sloan Memorial.

No word yet on when season 15 of "Grey's Anatomy" is set to premiere. Stay tuned.
