A director's chair shuffling involving "Stan & Ollie's" Jon S. Baird could mean some interesting news for the "Kingsman" franchise.

Deadline reports that Baird has been hired to co-write and direct an untitled movie from Marv Films, the Matthew Vaughn’s production company. It's behind the "Kingsman" and Kick-Ass" franchises.

Baird was recently attached to "Rothchild," a dark comedy starring Mel Gibson and Shia LaBeauf that generated sales interest at Cannes a few months ago.

According to Deadline, a rumor is floating that Baird could direct "Kingsman 3," even though Vaughn has directed all previous films in the franchise. He directed and is in post-production on the prequel "King's Man," which opens in February.

Baird's "Stan & Ollie," about the great comedy duo Laurel and Hardy, earned critical and awards acclaim.
