Bisan Owda

Bisan Owda (in arabic : بيسان عودة), born in 1997, is a Palestinian journalist, influencer and director. In one of his videos Owda says he comes from a village in the northern Gaza Strip. While visiting her grandparents, she would have witnessed the destruction of their orange plantation by Israeli forces at the age of fifteen. Owda works with the United Nations on gender equality, as a member of the UN Women Agora Forum for Youth Gender Innovation2.

Owda also works with the European Union on climate change, and is an EU Goodwill Ambassador. Owda produces a show, Hakawatia, broadcast by Roya TV and works for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Bisan Owda publishes videos, documenting the daily lives of Gazans or recounting his personal experience living through the Palestinian genocide.

Owda's videos on the lives of Palestinians during the war since October 7, 2023 have been shared by ABC News, Al Jazeera, BBC1 and Le Monde. As of October 15, 2023, Owda accumulates more than 180,000 followers on Instagram. Owda and his parents fled Beit Hanoun to take refuge in Al-Shifa hospital when the IDF ordered the Gazans to evacuate. His family's home and office in Rimal are both bombed, destroying all of Owda's film equipment.

She witnesses the Al-Shifa ambulance airstrike on November 3, 2023. Bisan Owda receives an Emmy Award in 2024 for his documentary 'It's Bisan from Gaza and I'm Still Alive'.
