Ilia Averbukh Biography

Graduate of the Moscow State Academy of Physical Culture. Honored Master of Sports (figure skating, dancing on ice). He began to practice figure skating in 1979. The first trainers - Honored Coach of Russia Dubinskaya, Honored Coach of Russia Gromova. Champion of Russia (1997, 2000-2002). Silver medalist of the championships of Russia (1998, 1999). European Champion (2003).

Bronze medalist of the world championships (1999, 2001, 2002). World Champion (2002). Silver (2003) and bronze (2001) medalist of the European Championships. Silver medalist of the 19th Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City (2002). Winner (2003) and silver medalist (2001) of the finals of the Grand Prix series. He played in tandem with Irina Lobacheva.

Trainers - Honored Master of Sports, Honored Trainer of Russia Linichuk, Honored Master of Sports, Honored Trainer of Russia G.M. Karponosov. Member of the Russian national team since 1989. He played for EShVSM "Moskvich", Moscow, VFSO "Dynamo". He completed his sports career in 2003.
