Julio Sánchez García Biography
Born and raised in Mexico City, Julio Sánchez is an independent filmmaker and Mexican audiovisual creator. Their work moves between directing, producing, and cinematography, with a particular interest in identity, human relationships, and LGBTQ+ narratives. Julio has collaborated on various productions at ENAC, and was also the producer and director of photography of "La importancia de llamarse Murcia"(2026).
Their practice is rooted in observation and in the encounters with the people he films, exploring cinema as a space for memory, intimacy, and discovery. Their interest in LGBTQ+ cinema informs both his perspective and his approach to storytelling, seeking to portray diverse experiences through sensitivity, intimacy, and a contemporary lens.
