Lauren Geoffroy Biography

Lauren Lou Geoffroy is a casting director and acting coach working internationally since 1992. Now (October 2019), she is currently casting director in Egypt for director Marwan Hamed on the film in production "1919" "Kira and the Ginn" and coaching Egyptian stars Karim Abdel-Aziz and Ahmed Ezz as well as other principal roles, including key British roles.

.Recently she was the acting coach for Hend Sabry, star of "Blue Elephant 2" which has become the largest grossing film in history in the Arab world as of 2019. Lauren was also the acting coach of Egyptian star Asser Yassin on the film "Diamond Dust" and other international projects. She has appeared occasionally in television in Egypt, speaking English, Arabic, and French, notably in 2016 in a central role in the 30-episode TV series in Egypt "Mamoun and Company" with the Arab world's biggest star, Adel Imam.

Originally from Los Angeles, and living between Paris and L.A. since 1995, Lauren has been based in Cairo since 2009, coaching actors, casting, creating and editing dialogue, advising script development, writing, acting, performing, and writing screenplays. She began this in 2011 when she was writing as a journalist for Truthdig.com based in Egypt throughout the revolutions of the "Arab Spring" for which her series of articles was nominated for a Pulitzer, as Lauren Unger-Geoffroy.

Coming from a background of classical music, acting and dance as a child, her university studies included anthropology, socio-psychology, languages, drama, dance and art. Offered acting roles in her teens, and living in Chicago, Paris, L.A., and Boston, Lauren chose to experience as many realities as possible instead of just "acting' them, which led to a life of wildly intense and varied experiences of the widest social and cultural spectrum from every perspective.

Living thus provided her with opportunities of cultural immersion, learning several languages, understanding the realities of behaviors and idiom and has given her the inspiration for many stories. She is able to perfect and coach any number of accents and inflections and class affect.
