Luke Harris

Luke Harris is a Black award-winning Director-Writer whose work centers intimate, character-driven stories rooted in identity, family, and community. In 2025, he was named a Princess Grace Award Winner in the Film & Animation category with the John H. Johnson Film Honors, and his latest short film, ManBooBs, is a finalist for the 2025 HBO Short Film Award at the American Black Film Festival.

Luke won the NAACP Cinematic Shorts Challenge for his film Danny Boy, receiving a grant that led to the production of his documentary Jeremiah’s Big Christmas Party, which went on to win the 2025 NBCUniversal Power of Storytelling Award in partnership with The Alliance for Media Arts + Culture. Luke wrote and directed Pam, which was featured on Omeleto and has garnered over one million views.

His film South Body won the Audience Award at the 2023 New Orleans Film Festival, and that same year he was selected for the NOFS Emerging Voices Directors Lab and NOVAC’s Director’s Documentary Cohort. He wrote and edited The First Day of Being Black, which won a Jury Award at the Student DGA Awards. His narrative series Provenance, which he wrote and produced, won Best Drama at the College Television Awards.

In 2022, Luke won the #CreateLouisiana French Cultural Film Grant for his film Tambou, which premiered at the 26th French Film Festival. Luke is a graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where he studied Film & Television Pro
