Raphaël Millet

Raphaël Millet is a film director, producer, writer and scholar. A graduate of the Paris Institute of Political Studies, he subsequently completed a postgraduate degree with a Master in Film Studies at University Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3. He then successively worked for the French National Centre for Cinema, France Télévisions, before being posted in Singapore as a cultural and audiovisual attaché, and then in Dubai as regional audiovisual attaché.

He has also taught film studies at University Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris from 1997 to 2002, and written extensively about movies in magazines, dictionaries and encyclopedias, while penning books like "Cinémas de la Méditerranée, cinémas de la mélancolie" (2002), "Le Cinéma de Singapour" (2004), "Singapore Cinema" (2006), and "Cinema in Lebanon / Le Cinéma au Liban" (2017).

He cofounded in 2007 Nocturnes Productions, for which he has on one hand produced documentaries about the history of cinema, such as "Code Name Melville" (2008), "Jean-Luc Godard, Disorder Exposed" (2012), "Edgar Morin, Chronicle of a Gaze" (2014), and on the other hand directed "Pierre Schoendoerffer, the Sentinel of Memory" (2011), "The Cinematographic Voyage of Gaston Méliès to Tahiti" (2014), "Gaston Méliès and His Wandering Star Film Company" (2015) and "Chaplin in Bali" (2017).

He is a member of SCAM (Société civile des auteurs multimedia) in France and EDN (European Documentary Network) in Europe.
