Rodrigo Dattoli Biography

Student at ENAC (National School of Cinematic Arts), specializing in Screenwriting. He began exploring the possibilities of the audiovisual field at the age of 16 as a self-taught filmmaker and editor for independent music videos. In 2016, he was in charge of the community film club at the Centro Cultural Sobre Ruedas located in the San Juan neighborhood of Mexico City, a project funded by the IECM Participatory Budget.

In 2018, he received support from the "Piso 16. Laboratorio de Iniciativas Culturales" program at UNAM, collaborating on various artistic projects across different disciplines. In 2020, he joined ENAC, where he has collaborated on various projects as an editor, including “Metro” (2023), “The Black Dog” (2022), and “The Caves of Air” (2023).

He also co-wrote the fiction I project at CCC, “Carne de Cordero” (2023). Additionally, he made his first documentary short film “Lethe” (2023), exploring the urban underworld of crime news in Mexico City. He is currently in post-production on “Toro,” a fiction short film that thematically explores death, violence, and tradition, set against the backdrop of bullfighting.

He is also developing “Perseidas,” his thesis film set on the highways of northern Mexico. An aficionado of music and poetry, he also works in these two areas, having participated in various courses and workshops, and being published in different magazines as well as self-publications. Similarly, he experiments with the creation of electronic music linked to the generation of real-time audiovisuals.
