Citizen Change reveals how a dedicated group of East Bay San Francisco Bay Area LGBT pioneers blazed the trail for marriage equality by inventing the domestic partnership and attaining its firstever enactment into law in the city of Berkeley CA in 1984 In relating their personal stories these remarkable men and women take us back to the 1970s and 1980s creating a vivid portrait of how a small dedicated group tackled the seemingimpossible the attainment of the worlds first law that affirmatively recognized samesex relationships In doing so they changed the very language that is used to describe samesex relationships and created a template that spread worldwide Their accomplishment made possible todays efforts to establish marriage equality Their contribution is revealed in this stirring documentary
