Plot Summary
Life as a Mormon missionary isn't what 19-year-old Brandon Allen expected. Los Angeles is as unrepentant as Sodom and Gomorrah. He's forced to share a small apartment with five young prank-loving missionaries and, to top it off, his first companion Marcus Dalton proves to be a harsh mentor. • Its intriguing subject matter is diluted by too many bland performances.

  • In its zeal to counter the negativity usually found in depictions of Mormons, God's Army eventually succumbs to overearnestness, sentimentality, and cliche.

  • Not everyone will be comfortable with a story that's as geared toward recruitment as any Army film, be it God's or Uncle Sam's. show more
