Plot Summary

Based on a true story, this film is set during the Nazi occupation of France during World War II and centers on a British woman named Mary Lindell (Judy Davis). Working for the Red Cross, Lindell secretly smuggles British soldiers stuck behind enemy lines out of the country. Lindell helps downed fighter pilot Maj. James Leggatt (Sam Neill). But once he is smuggled out, Lindell herself is arrested and sent to prison, and eventually to a concentration camp.
