Plot Summary
Connie (Maureen Stapleton) is a middle-aged housewife who lives with her husband, Joe (Paul Sorvino). Now that their children have left the nest, Connie begins to question the role of submissive housewife that society has forced her to assume. She recruits other housewives in the neighborhood for a discussion group that will allow them to freely share their grievances. The women find the bonds of friendship between them tightening, but the reaction from their startled husbands is mixed.
