Plot Summary

When Bill Cardew (Fred MacMurray) goes missing, his ship lost at sea, his wife, Vicky (Jean Arthur), assumes he is dead. A year later, she is married to Bill's old business partner, Henry Lowndes (Melvyn Douglas). But, of course, it turns out that Bill isn't dead, he was just shipwrecked. When he arrives back in town, he is shocked to see his wife with another man. While Bill expects Vicky to dump Harry and return to him, Vicky toys with the idea of staying married to both men.
