Henry Zaga, who played gay hottie Brad on Netflix's "13 Reasons Why," has joined the X-Men spin-off "New Mutants."

That's perfect casting, because Zaga is Brazilian, just like the mutant character he'll be playing, Sunspot. His mutant character's particular ability: He can absorb and channel solar power.

Director Josh Boone announced the news on his Instagram account.

Already cast in the upcoming movie: "Split" star Anya Taylor-Joy as Russian mutant Magik, "Game of Thrones" heroine Maisie Williams as Scottish mutant Wolfsbane, and "The Defenders" star Rosario Dawson. Dawson will play Dr. Cecilia Reyes, who can generate a protective bio-field around herself. She'll serve as a mentor for the group of young mutants.

Sunspot was previously played in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" by Adan Canto.

The film will begin shooting next month and will hit theaters on April 13, 2018.

"New Mutants" has a release date of April 13, 2018.
