Barack Obama Mocks His 'Dad Moves' in Clip from David Letterman's Netflix Series
Barack Obama has "dad moves," and he knows it.
With the former president appearing as the first guest on David Letterman's upcoming Netflix series, "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction," he is featured in a new clip, released Wednesday. Thanks to the sneak peek, we know he'll be discussing his dancing skills (or lack thereof) and gamely mocking himself. It turns out there's an art to keeping those "dad moves" in check, and Obama has mastered it.
"I think the key is... what we call staying in the pocket," he tells Letterman in the video. "You gotta stay in the pocket."
Obama goes on to explain what he means by that, pointing out how dads run the risk of "trying stuff they can't really pull off" once they step outside the pocket. Before they know it, they're doing karate kicks. We've all seen what can happen.
Watch Obama describe it below.
Letterman's series will consist of six one-hour episodes, and each will feature a single guest. In addition to welcoming our former commander in chief, Letterman will chat with actor George Clooney, Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, hip-hop mogul Jay-Z, comedian Tina Fey, and radio personality Howard Stern. We're looking forward to seeing the former "Late Show" host take on a new project.
"My Next Guest Needs No Introduction" hits Netflix on Jan. 12.
