Good news, kids: It's time to grab the nearest axe and hack your way through the blood and screams of AMC's "The Walking Dead" Season 6 midseason premiere trailer.

This 30-second promo gives us a glimpse of the carnage ahead when Episode 9 arrives on Sunday, February 14. Yes, Valentine's Day -- 'cause roses are red, violets are blue, Deanna is dead, and the next will be ... who? Maggie (Lauren Cohan) has a blood-curdling scream in the trailer but we refuse to fall for another "Glenn is dead" tease until he's actually shown dead. And even if they do show Glenn (Steven Yeun) dead, we'll probably still think he's alive under the nearest Dumpster.

Rick (Andrew Lincoln) has his axe handy (comic bookers may know what's ahead there, especially with that little hand-holding shot) and appears to put it to work. We also hear Papa Grimes's voice whisper, "I thought living behind these walls was possible. I was wrong." The "Your property now belongs to Negan" line is repeated, and we hear Glenn say, "The people you love, they're still part of you, even after they're gone."

Showrunner Scott Gimple recently told The Hollywood Reporter that the midseason premiere would be "quite deadly, sadly," adding, "There is some death going on in that but it's also unbelievably intense. It's one of the most intense episodes we've done. I know we say that a lot — I've said that about the premiere episode this year and we had 30,000 walkers. We might not hit those numbers in episode nine but the intensity by the end of that episode is not gut-wrenching — it's gut-swirling and gut-slamming and frappeing."

Nice. By the way, AMC is currently still airing its "Walking Dead" and "Fear the Walking Dead" marathons, so they may drop more 2016 trailers for both shows. Keep the telly on and stay tuned.
