Never let it be said that Charlize Theron won't suffer for her craft.

The "Atomic Blonde" star put up with more than a little pain while pulling off the stunts needed for the upcoming spy action thriller. In fact, she's still dealing with the physical effects. Theron recently revealed during a SXSW Q&A session that her teeth are "in bad shape" because she cracked two of them.

The injury came during her extensive training for the role, a months-long process that involved a team of eight trainers, hours of gym time, and even sparring with Keanu Reeves, who was training for "John Wick: Chapter 2." Unfortunately, though, that didn't save her from injury.

"When I trained, I cracked two teeth in the back of my mouth, clenching while fighting, because apparently my arm strength wasn't strong enough," she said, according to Variety.

Theron had to undergo oral surgery at the time, but that still wasn't enough. She shared that she has more surgery to go. Eesh.

The silver lining, perhaps, is that from what we've seen in the trailer, the actress throws a mean-looking punch. Director David Leitch said he'd "really wanted to try some provocative things with action," as Deadline reports, and he seems to have gotten his wish. If only it hadn't been at the expense of Theron's teeth...

"Atomic Blonde" opens in theaters on July 28.
