Chris Hardwick will return to host "Talking Dead" following an internal investigation by AMC into allegations of sexual and emotional abuse made by his ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra.

In June, Dykstra posted an essay on Medium alleging a former boyfriend of abuse and sexual assault. It was widely assumed that the person in question was Hardwick; he denied her claims.

But AMC suspended the host from "Talking Dead" and pulled "Talking With Chris Hardwick," his new series, from air to conduct an investigation.

AMC said in a statement that following that comprehensive review, Hardwick would return to both shows.

"We take these matters very seriously and given the information available to us after a very careful review, including interviews with numerous individuals, we believe returning Chris to work is the appropriate step," the network said in a statement.

Yvette Nicole Brown, who took over moderating several panels for Hardwick at Comic-Con, will still host the "Walking Dead" Season 9 preview special on August 5. Hardwick will return as host on August 12 in time for the Season 4B premiere of "Fear the Walking Dead."
