Evangeline Lilly is suiting up as a superhero in "Ant-Man and the Wasp," and she has given fans a sneak peek.

The actress tweeted a first look photo Monday of herself as the Wasp. She appears on the sequel's set and looks ready to save the day in her new black suit. Beyond showing off her costume and superhero alter ego, Lilly's tweet pays tribute to Jack Kirby, the late co-creator of many beloved Marvel characters, including Ant-Man and the Wasp, as it was his birthday.

"I am honoured to be on set today playing #TheWasp on what would be Jack Kirby's 100th birthday," she wrote.

Lilly will carry on Kirby's legacy by portraying the Wasp in the upcoming sequel to "Ant-Man." She is reprising her role as Hope, this time as a superhero in her own right. By teaming up with Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), a.k.a Ant-Man himself, on a new mission, Hope will get to try out her Wasp abilities. That will get her ready for future MCU flicks, including the still-untitled Avengers 4, in which the superhero is set to appear.

"Ant-Man and the Wasp" is due out July 6.
