Next up for the Fast and Furious franchise is the Hobbs and Shaw spinoff, but big plans for "Fast 9" are coming together.

"Today" had the chance to question star and producer Vin Diesel about the action series on Thursday. Although he and co-stars Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, and Tyrese Gibson were all there to get fans excited about the opening of Universal Orlando's new Fast and Furious ride, the subject of "Fast 9" came up. When it did, Diesel dropped some exciting tidbits, including that fact that it'll be even "bigger" than previous films.

"It does get bigger," the actor said. "I just got off the phone with Justin Lin, who is directing 'Fast 9' and 'Fast 10,' and I can't tell you how excited he is."

Diesel gave one more intriguing hint before moving off the subject: He indicated that the family will move to yet another new location; specifically, he teased that they are "long overdue" to head to Africa.

Watch Diesel discuss the upcoming film below.

"Fast 9" is slated to open April 10, 2020; "Today" airs weekdays.
