Alexa Nisenson can look forward to spending more time in the zombie apocalypse. After joining AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead" for several Season 4 episodes, the actress is set to return in Season 5.

Nisenson has been made a series regular, Deadline reports. She plays Charlie, a young girl who spied for the Vultures. After they fell, she ended up joining Morgan's group. She'll star alongside Lennie James, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Danay Garcia, Colman Domingo, Maggie Grace, Garret Dillahunt, and Jenna Elfman as well as "Fear the Walking Dead" newcomer Karen David.

After multiple characters were killed off in Season 4, it makes sense that "Fear the Walking Dead" would have room to promote a recurring character and add in someone new. Charlie's search for redemption, in particular, should work well with the more hopeful tone that emerged in the second half of the season.

"I think going forward, this show is really going to be about the mission of hope and it's going to be about our characters trying to make the world a better place," co-showrunner Andrew Chambliss told Comicbook.com in late September.

"Fear the Waking Dead" began production during the fall, and Season 5 is slated to premiere later this year.
