The first photos from the final season of HBO's "Game of Thrones" confirm one thing: Winter is most definitely here.

The 14 images show the key characters bundled up in warm clothing, gazing out over snowy landscapes, and generally looking anxious, worried, and pensive as they contemplate the battles to come.

Season 8, which premieres April 14, will bring the Night King, his horde of undead White Walkers, and his Ice Dragon through the fallen Wall and into Westeros.

Leading the charge against him are Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), pictured above. Their journey to Winterfell has made them even closer.

Below, Jon examines the hustle and bustle of the courtyard at his childhood home.

He not only bent the knee to Daenerys, but bedded her as well. Of course, neither yet knows that she is his aunt, since his true father was Rhaegar Targaryen.

Daenerys will meet Jon's siblings (actually, cousins), including the Lady of Winterfell, Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) ...

... as well as the girl who was formerly No One but has reclaimed her name, Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) ...

... and the all-seeing Three-Eyed Raven, Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), who knows Jon's true parentage.

Also holding onto that secret is Jon's friend and Night's Watch brother, Samwell Tarly (John Bradley):

Joining the Winterfell-ians are Sansa's sworn knight, Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie); Jon's right hand man, Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham); and Targaryen advisor, spy master Varys (Conleth Hill).

And of course, let's not forget Daenerys' Hand of the Queen, Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage). His last trip to Winterfell was quite memorable.

Speaking of Lannisters, Tyrion's brother Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) seems to have finally broken away from his twin sister/lover. Last we saw, he was riding north to help Team Dany-Jon with the whole undead army thing.

As for Cersei (Lena Headey), she's alone, no family left, nearly friendless. That's never stopped her diabolical ways before, though.
