Monterey's welcoming yet another Oscar winner to town.

In January, HBO's "Big Little Lies" announced that Meryl Streep would be joining the cast to perform opposite fellow Best Actress Oscar winners Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon in Season 2. Now, Kidman has shared the first photo of Streep as Mary Louise Wright, the mother of the now-deceased Perry (Alexander Skarsgard), who was married to Kidman's Celeste.

"First day on the set with Meryl and "my" darling boys!" Kidman wrote in her Instagram post.

In Season 2, Celeste is "reeling from her husband Perry's death ... adrift, but determined to fight for her family and find the woman she once was." Streep's grieving character, meanwhile, is sure to stir up some painful memories for her daughter-in-law while she is "searching for answers," as HBO described.

In the Season 1 finale, Perry got into an altercation with Celeste and friends Madeline (Witherspoon) and Renata (Laura Dern) and then he was pushed to his death by Bonnie (Zoe Kravitz).

"Big Little Lies" Season 2 doesn't have a premiere date but is likely to air sometime in 2019.
