While marathons of the flicks are common on cable outlets like Freeform, this will be the first time that all of the Potterverse films -- with prequel "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" included in the mix -- will air back-to-back on television, without edits or commercial interruption. All of the individual flicks are currently available for rental or purchase from other services like Amazon Video and iTunes, but HBO's acquisition also marks the first time that all of the films will be available for streaming through the same service, via HBO Now, HBO Go, and HBO On Demand.
The 24/7 marathon will kick off on HBO on January 1, 2018 at 9 a.m. with the premiere of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," and end in the early morning hours of January 2, 2018 with "Fantastic Beasts." All nine films will then air on back to back nights on HBO Family, beginning on January 2, 2018 at 8 p.m.
Here's the schedule for the nightly marathon:
Tuesday, Jan. 2 – Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Wednesday, Jan. 3 – Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Thursday, Jan. 4 – Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Friday, Jan. 5 – Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
