While we won't be seeing The Crain family in the follow-up to "The Haunting of Hill House" -- the second season will be called "The Haunting of Bly Manor" -- we might see the return of Carla Gugino.

Gugino, who played the Crain matriarch in the first season, told The Wrap she’s "talking a lot" with series creator Mike Flanagan about coming back as a different character.

"Well, I can’t say anything definitive at this point, other than Mike and I really love collaborating and working together and any opportunity where a schedule allows for us to do that, we will, and I would be honored to," she said. She also starred in Flanagan's horror film "Gerald's Game."

"We’ll just see if all schedules allow," Gugino said. “All I can say is I’m very excited for Season 2 and to see what Mike does.” She's currently promoting the premiere of her new Cinemax series, "Jett."

Fellow "Hill House" star Oliver Jackson-Cohen recently told The Wrap he’d “get shot” if he confirmed one way or another if he was coming back. Which sounds like a "yes" to us. Fingers crossed.

The second season will be based on Henry James’s horror novella, "The Turn of the Screw." It inspired the eerie 1961 film "The Innocents," in which Deborah Kerr played a governess at a remote house who fears the children she's watching are possessed by evil spirits. Or is she just going mad...?

While Gugino could easily be taking on the governess role, there isn't a character in the novella that would be right for Jackson-Cohen. But since Flanagan will be doing the same radical re-envisioning he did with Shirley Jackson's novel, that's a completely moot point.
