Jamie Foxx voiced support for Quentin Tarantino after police groups across the country called for a boycott of "The Hateful Eight" over the director's comments linking police violence to murder.

"Keep telling the truth, keep speaking the truth and don't worry about none of the haters," Foxx said Sunday night onstage at the Hollywood Film Awards in Beverly Hills.

The actor spoke out while giving the ensemble award to "Hateful Eight" cast.

At a rally last month in New York against police brutality, Tarantino joined demonstrators marching through the street and showing signs of young men, mostly black, killed in clashes with officers.

"I'm a human being with a conscience," said Tarantino, according to the Associated Press. "And if you believe there's murder going on then you need to rise up and stand up against it. I'm here to say I'm on the side of the murdered."

Police organizations in New York, Philadelphia, New Jersey and Los Angeles have all called for a boycott of Tarantino's movie. The National Association of Police Organizations also endorsed the move.
