It's the "mother!" of all breakups.

According to Entertainment Tonight, and further "confirmed" by People, Jennifer Lawrence, 27, and director Darren Aronofsky, 48, have split up after more than a year together. They met while making the polarizing film "mother!" and started dating in Fall 2016. Now apparently they're over.

A source told ET the amicable split happened last month. A second source told ET their last public sighting, November 11 at the Governors Awards in L.A., happened after they had broken up. They sat together and were friendly, the insider said, since they are still friends, and there's no awkwardness.

They did seem to lack things in common, outside of their work on "mother!," and not just in the age difference. Lawrence opened up to Vogue about dating Aronofsky, saying, "I normally don't like Harvard people, because they can't go two minutes without mentioning that they went to Harvard... He's not like that." While he's "not a snobby Harvard man," Lawrence said he did hate her love for reality TV. "He just finds it so vastly disappointing."

Lawrence also just spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about meeting and working with Aronofsky:

"I had a crush on him when he pitched to me, and that was like a year before we started rehearsing, but he was a professional, which only made it worse for me. So we just kind of formed a friendship. He knew how I felt, he never told me how he felt -- I mean, I assumed -- but we just formed a friendship, and then the friendship turned into a partnership for the movie once we started working, and then, when the movie was done, I was like, 'Alright, you're my boyfriend!' And he was like, 'Alright, I'm your boyfriend.'"

Even though they obviously clicked, they also disagreed on how to promote their movie:

"I don't think any audience member should go in blindly. Darren and I disagree on that constantly."

Before Aronofsky, Lawrence dated her "X-Men" costar Nicholas Hoult and Coldplay singer Chris Martin. Aronofsky has a son from his previous relationship with actress Rachel Weisz.
