"Saturday Night Live," surprising a lot of her critics -- including possibly Donald Trump. There was very little awkwardness or "Twilight" lip biting, instead fans got a taste of the promise Stewart first showed back in David Fincher's "Panic Room."

Stewart's excellence started in her monologue, which went text-by-text through now President Donald Trump's past tweets about her breakup with Robert Pattinson.

"So, to be fair, I don't think Donald Trump hated me. I think he was in love with my boyfriend," she said, adding, "But Donald if you didn't like me then you're probably really not going to like me now because I'm hosting 'SNL' and I'm, like, so gay, dude."

At the end of her 5-minute monologue, she appeared to accidentally (or not accidentally?) drop an f-bomb:

"We've got a great show, and I totally care that I'm here because it's the coolest f*cking thing ever." She covered her mouth, and added "Oops! Oh my god, and I'm sorry.... And Alessia Cara is also here, and I'll never come back."

Here's the bleeped version, with the full monologue:
