You haven't lived until you've died.

A new trailer for the reboot of "Flatliners" is a flashy, sexy, trippy ride. This revival is intended as a sequel to the 1990 movie starring Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland.

The latter reprises his role as Nelson Wright, now a doctor and professor, in the new version. Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, Kiersey Clemons, James Norton star as his young medical students, who are experimenting with near-death experiences.

The new "Flatliners" is basically a remake of the original, though Sutherland's presence makes it a quasi-sequel. Like in the first movie, this one has the students stopping their hearts, shocking them back to life, then recording their almost psychedelic experiences.

The trailer is propulsive, driven by a pulse-like beat, which gets faster and faster as the stakes get higher and riskier. And of course, whenever super attractive young people place themselves in danger, they tend to make out.

"Flatliners " opens in theaters September 29.
