The latest trailer for the eagerly anticipated "Halloween" sequel presents the gruesome events of 1963 in Haddonfield, Illinois as a true-crime news story... followed by the even more shocking killings in 1978.

We see footage of news clippings, the murder house, a blurred-out-photo of 6-year-old Michael Myers, as well the sole survivor, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis ).

The trailer then segues into footage from the present day, in which a now grey-haired Laurie most stop her maniacal brother from his latest killing spree.

Several lucky people have already seen the David Gordon Green film, which debuted to nearly universal acclaim at the Toronto International Film Fest. It opens nationwide October 19.

And, even more Michael Myers mayhem: John Carpenter's original 1978 slasherwill be back in theaters on September 27.
