Listen, all of y'all, it's a sabotage. "Star Trek Beyond" is meant to debut a trailer during "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" screenings, but Paramount just dropped the first trailer online -- and the tone is reeeaaalllly different than what we were expecting. The "Star Trek" movies are always a lot of fun, but this is pure comedy, with joke after joke set to the Beastie Boys's "Sabotage."

See what you think:

When they're done rocking out we'll probably get a darker trailer, since it looks like some of this exact footage has more serious context. Like, Zoe Saldana's Uhura was probably screaming about something important, not to turn the music down.

Justin Lin ("Fast & Furious") directed this sequel to "Star Trek Into Darkness," with a script co-written by the genius Simon Pegg, aka Scotty. (Hence all the jokes?) "Beyond" stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana , Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, John Cho, and Idris Elba. It opens July 22, 2016.

Thoughts? Maybe Kirk pulled a Star-Lord and made his own tape called "Awesome Mix Vol. 3"...
